Resumo

O trabalho dos bombeiros exige altos níveis de condicionamento físico, especialmente de resistência cardiorrespiratória e muscular, devido à natureza intensa, intermitente e exigente das emergências. O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar o impacto da implementação de um programa de treinamento sobre a resistência cardiorrespiratória e muscular em voluntários da Segunda e Terceira Companhia do Corpo de Bombeiros de Villa Alegre. Foi realizado um estudo pré-experimental, longitudinal, com desenho pré-pós-intervenção, em uma amostra de 12 bombeiros voluntários. A intervenção consistiu em um programa de treinamento em circuito de alta intensidade (HICT) aplicado durante um período de 6 semanas, sendo avaliadas variáveis de resistência cardiorrespiratória e muscular por meio de testes funcionais padronizados antes e depois do programa. A análise estatística foi realizada por meio de testes não paramétricos para amostras relacionadas, complementando a significância estatística com o cálculo do tamanho do efeito. Os resultados evidenciaram melhorias significativas na maioria das variáveis avaliadas (p < 0,05), observando-se aumentos relevantes no desempenho físico geral. Embora o Teste de Abdominais não tenha alcançado significância estatística, apresentou uma tendência positiva na mediana e um grande tamanho do efeito, o que sugere adaptações funcionais clinicamente relevantes.
