Abstract
In 2023, the Autonomous University took the lead of the UNESCO Chair of Scientific Education for Citizenship, a project that seeks to empower people with knowledge and skills to make evidence-based decisions. This initiative aims to strengthen the relationship between science and citizenship, impacting both people’s daily lives and public policy formulation in an effort to build a more informed and participatory society.
Through a variety of initiatives, in its first year the Chair has strengthened the connection between research, scientific communication and citizen participation, democratizing access to knowledge and creating inclusive spaces for interaction.
