Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive analysis of scientific production in the field of agribusiness and exports. The study’s background underscores the importance of understanding the evolution and trends of scientific production in this field to design strategies that strengthen the management and sustainable development of the agri-food and export sectors. Bibliometric methods were applied, including Price’s Law, Lotka’s Law, Zipf’s Law, and the Hirsch index, to evaluate the growth of scientific production, identify prolific authors, and the most cited articles. The results revealed an exponential growth in article production from 1968 to 2022, spanning 54 years, with strong representation from South America and Europe, led by Brazil, followed by Mexico and Chile. This study highlights the relevance of bibliometrics in understanding the dynamics and trends in agribusiness and exports, offering valuable insights for future research, especially in Central America and Honduras.
