Abstract
The intervention consisted of 30- to 45-minute sessions combining aerobic, muscle-strengthening, and balance exercises. The Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI) was used to assess symptoms, and the Activities of Daily Living Questionnaire (ADLQ) was used to assess functional status. Results: A reduction in caregiver distress and a decrease in caregiver burden were observed. The depression and anxiety domains showed the greatest reduction; irritability decreased, and functionality in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and functional capacity remained stable. Conclusion: Multicomponent physical training is a viable and effective non-pharmacological technique that can reduce caregiver distress and caregiver burden in people with Alzheimer's disease. This study presents a promising alternative for reducing caregiver distress and maintaining functional capacity.
