Abstract

Objective: to assess the effect of multidisciplinary group interventions by a primary health care team, guided by a family doctor, on the symptoms, quality of life and family dynamics of patients with fibromyalgia. Methodology: comparative longitudinal study. The participants were 20 adult female subjects clinically diagnosed with fibromyalgia belonging to the CESFAM of the Pelarco commune, Maule region, Chile. The activity protocol was based on weekly workshops with a multidisciplinary team made up of a physiotherapist, nutritionist, psychologist and family doctor. Results: the multidisciplinary approach significantly improved indicators of quality of life and family dynamics, while significantly reducing the clinical symptoms of these patients (p<0.05). Conclusion: patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia had significant improvements in their clinical condition through a multidisciplinary approach to their functional condition.
