Bullying and cyberbullying during school transition from Primary Education to Secondary Education Transition from bullying and cyberbullying
Main Article Content
Abstract
The transition stage from primary to secondary school constitutes a critical period in schoolchildren that could affect their adjustment and social functioning. This research explores the aggression and victimization of bullying and cyberbullying and its variation between these two educational stages. 122 schoolchildren participated in a longitudinal study and with two study times. The analyzes did not show significant differences in bullying and cyberbullying between the last grade of primary education and the first grade of secondary education. The conclusions indicate that the school transition period, between educational stages, does not necessarily have negative connotations regarding the involvement and development of bullying and cyberbullying behaviors.
